Why do I have to go to ASF?
Have you received a letter from your driving license authority with the order to complete a postgraduate seminar for novice drivers? Here you can find out all the information you need.
Why do I have to attend a postgraduate seminar? There can be several reasons for this. There are two catalogues, which the driving licensing authority uses as a basis for ordering an ASF advanced seminar.
With catalogue A, a traffic violation is sufficient to require participation in a postgraduate seminar. These violations are typically more serious and involve, for example, driving while under the influence of alcohol or significant speeding offences.
Catalogue B comprises less serious infringements in which several minor offenses must be collected before participation in a postgraduate seminar is ordered.
Procedure of the ASF advanced seminar
The advanced seminar for novice drivers consists of several sessions over a period of several weeks. It comprises:
- Four group sessions: Each session lasts approximately two hours and takes place in small groups. Traffic violations are discussed here and their causes are analysed.
- An observation trip: A practical trip takes place between group sessions, during which a driving instructor observes and evaluates the driving behavior of the participants.
Benefits of the ASF Advanced Seminar
The seminar aims to raise awareness of road safety and improve driving behavior in the long term. Participation offers the opportunity to identify and change dangerous driving behavior before there are more serious consequences.
