Overview
Minimum Age
24 years for direct acquisition. 20 years with 2 years of prior possession of A2.
Tests
For direct entry: You'll have both a theory test and a 70-minute practical test. When upgrading from A2 to A: There's no theory test, and the practical test is shortened to 60 minutes.
Requirements

Specifications
With the A2 motorcycle license, you automatically receive the AM and A1 licenses as well. This is the second level of motorcycle licenses, building upon A1. After that, you can obtain the full A license after two more years to allow for riding with unrestricted engine performance.

with a maximum power of 35 kW (48 hp), and it must not be derived from a motorcycle with more than 70 kW. The power-to-weight ratio must not exceed 0.2 kW/kg.

Specifications
The AM license is automatically included with the A1 motorcycle license. The A1 license is the first level of motorcycle licenses, followed by A2 at age 18 and A at age 20. This allows you to gradually adjust to increasing engine performance.
You're allowed to drive
With an engine capacity of up to 125 cc, a maximum power of 11 kW (15 hp), and a power-to-weight ratio of up to 0.1 kW/kg. Additionally, you are allowed to operate three-wheeled motor vehicles.
With an engine capacity of over 50 cc (for internal combustion engines) or a maximum speed of over 45 km/h, but the power is limited to a maximum of 15 kW (20 hp).

Overview

25 years.

None. You only need to complete a rider training course.
Requirements
You need to have held a car driver's license for at least 5 years.

The theoretical training includes 4 double lessons of additional practical theory and 10 sessions of 45 minutes each.
Specifications
The code 196 is only recognized in Germany.
You're allowed to drive
with an engine capacity of up to 125 cc, a maximum power of 11 kW (15 hp), and a power-to-weight ratio of no more than 0.1 kW/kg.

Theoretical training includes 12 double lessons of basic theory and 2 double lessons of additional practical theory. There is no set number of mandatory practice hours. The number of practice hours depends on your driving behavior and vehicle control.
Specifications
With this license, you can also drive small vehicles (L6e) or so-called "moped cars." These are similar to a conventional car but are significantly lighter, smaller, and can go up to a maximum speed of 45 km/h.
You're allowed to drive
with an engine capacity of up to 50 cc, a top speed of 45 km/h, and a power output of up to 4 kW (6 hp).

Mofa Test Certificate
Overview
Minimum Age
15 years. The theory test can be taken up to 3 months before.
Tests
Only a theory test is required, with no practical test needed.

Training
You’ll attend six double lessons of theory, each lasting 90 minutes. The practical training consists of at least one double lesson of 90 minutes.
Specifications
Personal transporters (e.g., Segways) also require a moped license if you plan to use them on public roads.
