  • 15 Years

Vehicle:

  • Maximum speed 25 Km/h

Category AM

Minimum age:

  • 16 Years

Vehicle:

  • Single track moped
  • Maximum speed 45 Km/h

Category A1

Minimum age:

  • 16 Years

Vehicle:

  • Single track light motorcycle
  • Maximum power 15 PS / 11kW
  • Maximum engine size 125 cm³

Specialty:

  • In contrast to class AM, the probationary period begins here.
  • Category AM vehicles are not allowed to drive on motorways – class A1 vehicles usually are!

Category A2

Minimum age:

  • 18 Years

Vehicle:

  • Power limitation to 48 PS / 35 kW
  • The original power of the motorcycle must not exceed 96 hp before throttling.

Specialty:

  • If you already have the A1 category for 2 or more years, you do not have to take a theoretical test! There are also no prescribed special drives, only the suitability to drive the large machine has to be proven.

Category A

Minimum age:

  • 20 years in the case of 2 years’ prior possession of class A2
  • 24 years without prior possession of class A2

Vehicle:

  • No power limit!

Specialty:

  • If you have already been in category A2 for 2 or more years, you do not have to take a theoretical test! There are also no prescribed special trips, only the suitability to drive the large machine has to be proven.
